Job Description

Job Title: Welder

Shift: 1st shift 6am-2:30pm

Job Description

As a Welder, your primary responsibilities will include welding to custom fabricate, working on shell and tube heat exchangers, ASME Pressure Vessels, and Tanks up to 15’ in diameter, 120 feet in length and up to 320,000 pounds. You will perform MIG flux-core welding on a variety of stainless, carbon, and precious metals using 045 wire, and engage in some TIG welding if trained. Additional duties include ‘Fitting’ if trained, code welding, and blueprint reading.

Hard Skills

+ MUST HAVE: TIG Welding experience

+ Welding of fabricated heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and tanks

+ Experience in fabricating steel products

+ Experienced in reading blueprints and weld symbol knowledge

+ Knowledgeable in ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1

+ Knowledgeable with layout and fabrication of product

+ Physical capability for requirements of job, including lifting 50+lbs

+ Comfortable with heights, as welding will sometimes be 15ft -20ft in the air

Soft Skills

+ Flux core welding

+ Blueprint Experience

+ Math skills (diameter, pi, degree line, measurements)

+ Experience in a code shop (preferred)

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Decatur, Illinois.
