JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
The Wireless System Engineer will contribute to the design, implementation, optimization, and verification of wireless systems for hearing aids and hearing aid accessories. Must possess wireless system or communication knowledge, effective communication skills, creativity, and internal drive to design and test of wireless systems that are recognized as best-in-class in the hearing aid industry. Must have the ability to work both independently and in a group environment. Must be able to work well with in a team and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS
Design of the wireless system for products through the product development process.
to Contribute to wireless system design, implementation, verification, and release of wireless products.
Implement wireless system feature.
Testing and troubleshooting of the wireless system to characterize the system level performance.
Execute wireless system integration test plans and procedures to characterize the wireless system level performance.
Coordinate wireless system integration testing and report generation.
Analyze test reports and track/troubleshoot wireless system bugs.
Continuous improvement in wireless system design and test
Identify and implement improvements in wireless process and testing that could be streamlined.
Support transfer of products and product knowledge into manufacturing
Support manufacturing and quality engineers with wireless issues.
Provide work direction to technicians.
Meet with the technicians periodically to provide guidance on tasks.
Feedback from peers, technicians and 360 review.
Wireless system design and test deliverables are delivered on time
All wireless system level bugs/issues are closed prior to alpha and product launch.
Wireless System Integration Testing (WSIT) data is collected, and test reports are written
Test plans and reports should be updated for each program.
Interdepartmental feedback.
All technicians should be cross trained to run every WSIT test.
Technicians have full backlog of work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience
BSEE with 5 years of progressive - post bachelor's experience
MSEE
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
Knowledge of communication systems and protocol stacks required.
Knowledge of short-range wireless systems (e.g. Bluetooth, 802.11, UWB, IrDA, Spread Spectrum) required.
Knowledge of wireless data networking environments and other wireless standards required.
Knowledge of 3rd generation cellular technology and products desired.
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
Familiarity with RF design and test tools such as HFSS and LabView is required.
Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have strong interpersonal communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exposure to the following equipment: oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer
Familiarity with writing software for test and automation desired.
Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office tools desired.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
Must be able to adapt positively to a changing environment.
