A.M. Castle & Co is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Finance team in Oak Brook, IL. Ideally looking for someone with a experience in a corporate environment and advanced Excel skills.

PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for developing various scenario analyses that serve as the basis for recommendations for leaders of the business draw from to make critical tactical and strategic decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (performs other duties as assigned):
Develops financial models, forecasts and comparative performance analysis:
Prepares and coordinates the monthly variance analysis of actuals, plan and forecast. Translates analyses into easy-to-understand presentations and visualizations.
Designs, builds and maintains various management reporting models involving executive management, product and direct/indirect P&L reports.
Identifies trends and recommends actions based on sound and thorough analysis.
Manages dashboard reporting of key financial metrics.
Supports the leadership team with regular (daily, weekly, monthly) financial reporting and metrics, as well as ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Partners effectively with numerous teams at the Company (accounting, operations, branch, sales, etc.) to produce monthly, quarterly and annual budgets.
Support the finance and business teams with financial metrics and key business analysis.
Assists, as needed, in developing materials (reporting, metrics, presentations) for external communications to partners and the Board.
Proposes enhancements to the financial planning process:
Helps drive initiatives to identify and enhance upstream data collection to improve downstream usage and reporting.
Performs research and analysis of financial and operational performance for comparable companies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
Two years of progressive experience in corporate finance or financial planning and analysis
Prior experience with Oracle Financials
Prior experience with Prophix
Excellent analytical skills
Strong PC literacy and applications, advanced skills in Excel
Detail-oriented, with strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to summarize complex data and thoughts into effective actionable communications; ability to interact effectively with management and functional leaders
Takes ownership / responsibility; self-starter with ability to complete actions/projects from start-to-finish
Demonstrates desire and ability to achieve results and works on continuous improvements
Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic work environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office environment (keyboard, mouse, telephone use)
Manual dexterity (grasp, hand/wrist movement)
