Job Summary:
Conducts experimental research lab work and/or assists in design of one or more specific phase(s) of entire project(s).May complete mathematical calculations, and/or computer tasks and/or assist in judging validity of data.Follows appropriate protocols, policies, procedures, regulations, Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices.
We are seeking a Research Technician to join our team at the Lab, where you will play a crucial role in supporting scientific research and discovery efforts focused on lung transplant, lung injury, and lung cancer. Working closely with physicians, bioinformaticians, and research scientists, you will contribute to ongoing research projects by processing patient specimens for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), employing flow sorting techniques to purify cells, and executing sequencing library preparation protocols.You will be responsible for managing specimen repositories and assisting with experimental validations using molecular & cellular technologies.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $24.14 to $30.17 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Specific Responsibilities:
Tissue dissociation/section, flow cytometry, library construction for NGS (bulk RNAseq, single cell genomics and spatial transcriptome)
Specimen repositories management and clinical records extraction
Assists in experimental validations using molecular and cellular technologies (e.g., RT-PCR, flow cytometry, cell culture)
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering or other biological sciences
At least one year of laboratory experience.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Able to determine priorities and work independently.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Detail oriented with strong organization skills.
Ability to work independently and on a self-directed basis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Two to three years' experience with NGS libraries preparation.
