Let's connect! We are looking for a Director of Student Support Services that assist the training needs with school staff, students, parents. guardians, and other stakeholders.
This person will
Provide leadership in developing and implementing comprehensive school policies and student supportive practices that are in alignment with the school's Philosophy of Care
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop, implement and assess individualized evidence-based strategies and interventions
Develop and implement processes for therapeutic, evidence-based practices with school staff, students and other stakeholders
Support staff and students in instances of disruptive student behavior
Ensure staff are scheduled for and attend necessary trainings
Communicate timely and consistently with staff and students regarding policies and strategies
Maintains records in accordance with school and state policies and write agency required behavioral reports in timely manner
Ensures staff training records are updated as necessary
Schedule and participate in qualitative professional development activities.
Maintain ongoing communication relationship with all members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve social and educational benefits for students
Successfully complete training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Ukeru and
maintain certification in both.
What we require
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred in education, school support services or related field from an accredited college or university
Knowledge of or Experience with employee supervision; three years or more of experience preferred
Knowledge of or experience with TCI strongly preferred
Five years of experience working with youth experiencing trauma based emotional and behavioral needs
Experience with the Chicago Public School electronic IEP systems is strongly desired.
Able to successfully complete the physical and testing requirements Therapeutic Crisis
Experience working with students with special education needs is preferred
Experience developing and facilitating professional development for staff is preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Compensation:The minimum compensation for this position is $66,200 annually.
