Job Description

Help the firm continue to make steady progress for our four most critical areas of risk management. The risk of all strategies across all groups putting on the same position at the same time. Understand the overall working order exposure. Establish a more quantifiable process for evaluating real-time and overnight risk for basis relationships that are assumed to be stable (ETF basis, FX basis, etc.). Establish a more quantifiable process for evaluating real-time and overnight risk on spread trades that we know will occasionally disjoint (yield curve risk, the spreading of semi-similar products, etc.). Research hot-button regulatory issues that revolve around risk management and ensure that Jump is sound on all "best practices" that are being discussed industry-wide. Develop and enforce a "Clearly Erroneous" trading solution. Use the PTG Best Practices Paper as a Model. Successfully handle all audits and risk reviews from 3rd party sources (Prime Brokers, Exchanges, Clearing Firms, Regulators, Auditors). Collaborate with compliance team successfully on audits. Review official risk management procedures and controls document that is passed out to 3rd parties and ensures that it is always kept up to date. Track risk exceptions firm-wide in a user-friendly manner, ensuring what is observed is accurate, and confirms that the trading groups are aware of these exceptions and dealing with them in an effective, professional manner. Determine whether Splunk should be the long-term solution. Understand the trading community well and works directly with each group to discuss how they think about risk for their particular trading group. Work with accounting team to better understand capital allocation risk for each spreading group. Confirm that the capital allocation numbers that are observed in real-time are accurate and develops a system that ensures the firm will never be in a compromising situation due to a capital crunch. Attend weekly Risk Meetings, provide leadership to team members at weekly meetings, and ensures all content discussed in meetings can be easily understood and adopted by the trading community. Complete a regular inventory of each trading group's total risk parameters in a way that potential problems or sloppiness is easily identified. Confirm that all mandatory parameters have been filled-in successfully for every trading strategy in Risk Shield. Establish a process that confirms the Core Dev produced P/L numbers against the numbers that the trading groups know internally. Develop risk solutions for the equity sector that will better prepare the firm to trade thousands of symbols. Communicate reliably and effectively with risk management team. Work effectively and partners with the trading community as a partner.
