Job Description

The Quality and Food Safety Compliance Manager is critical to Printpack's Food Safety and Quality Commitment. They work to ensure that Printpack's Quality and Food Safety Management System consistently provides products and services which meet customer and brand requirements and that our food safety management system effectively meets the requirements of Printpack customers, consumers, regulators and registrars. They also capture and share best practices and drives continuous improvement.

The position will ideally be in Atlanta, GA or another Printpack facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT

Improve and maintain Printpack's Quality and Food Safety Management System.

Lead development and implementation of program updates that effectively address changes to customer, certification, and Quality & Food Safety Standard requirements.

Manage and organize the work of Printpack's Quality and Food Safety Management System Team.

Monitor ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and related certification requirement changes, communicate updates to the organization, and ensure Printpack maintains activities necessary for GFSI and ISO 9001 certifications.

Manage the ISO 9001 and GFSI certification process at the corporate level, serving as primary liaison to external certification bodies.

Stay abreast of customer Quality and Food SafetyManagement requirements.

Interpret all current and applicable laws related to relevant food safety to ensure clean, sanitary, and safe products.Provide GMP and HACCP leadership.

Inform company leadership of conditions, which could lead to potential violations of laws, food safety or quality certification standard requirements, or company policies and procedures.

Facilitate preparation and completion of Quality and Food Safety Management System external audits and responses to any findings.

COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT

Provide coordination and oversight of the Printpack internal audit process.

Provide leadership and advice to manufacturing locations and corporate/business unit functions in Quality and Food Safety.

Support efforts to ensure Qualityand Food Safety procedures are clear and understood and assist production management in ensuring that Quality and Food Safety procedures are followed.

Travel commitment: 20 - 30%

CUSTOMER AND SUPPLIER INTERACTION

Serve as primary customer liaison for complex food safety requirements or issues.

Interact with customers and suppliers and visit as necessary to build relationships and to understand and resolve issues.

Manage the review of registrar services and recommend changes as needed.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

Drive further development and integration of Food Safety and Quality Cultures.

Develop and provide company training resources that support the Quality andFood Safety program and internal auditing processes. Evaluate training effectiveness and plan improvements.

Lead and motivate associatesto promote continuous improvement, associate engagement, and a dedication to safe working conditions and behaviors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a Science plus 5 years of relevant experience in quality and/or food safety or 7+ years of leadership experience specific to quality and/or food safety.

Experience in manufacturingand corporate environments.

Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.

Experience developing and maintainingquality and food safety cultures at all organizational levels.

Experience implementing and maintaining ISO quality certification frameworks and GFSI recognized certification program.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Quality and Food Safety ComplianceManager has overall responsibility for the Quality and Food Safety Management System. To be successful, he/she must work cross functionally across Printpack's enterprise and with customers and suppliers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Director, Quality

Direct reports:1 Food Safety Specialist

Indirect reports: Mfg. Site Management System representatives, Mfg. Site Food Safety Teams, external registrars.
