Job Overview

As a member of our Engineering Services Team, you will help create drawing packages for our utility customers. As a CAD Technician II, you will be overseeing managing all drawing files and modifying CAD files to incorporate engineering changes.

A Day In The Life

Draft electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
Draft electrical station layouts, plans, and station details using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
Draft physical station layouts, plans, and details in 2D and 3D using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
Create cover sheets using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
Create and maintain drawing lists
Officially submit CAD files and associated documents to/from client servers
Produce and maintain high quality drawings and drafting, exhibiting strict attention to detail
Plot, scan and create pdfs of documents/drawings to support project team
Plot drawing sets and create shipping labels for customer sets
Assist in training and mentoring junior level CAD Technicians
Order material on projects following customer procedures
Communicate with other OEC firms and clients regarding drawing ownership priority
Working knowledge of customer procedures and standards regarding drawing modifications and submittals

What will help you thrive in this role?

Associates Degree in Drafting/Engineering or high school diploma and related technical experience in Drafting
Advanced working knowledge of MS office suite
Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D & 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation 2D & 3D
Ability to visualize items in 3D
Working knowledge of drafting practices
High attention to detail and quality review
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while still hitting milestone dates
Working knowledge of construction, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and physical connections would be helpful but not required
