Corporate Float Flight Nurse
JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct patient care in accordance with AirMed's clinical guidelines and/or online medical direction. Assists with coverage of open shifts as needed. Helps with the start-up of new bases and assists with PR and marketing at new and established bases when needed. One year of full-time flight experience with AMI required. Must be a preceptor approved by AMI Director of Medical Operations and Regional Clinical Management Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Administrative duties
Responsible for completion and submission of Flight Records if needed
Responsible for Narcotic Count per policy
Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education,
safety, and advanced procedures
Attends and participates in meetings according to established base guidelines
Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
Maintains awareness of current issues related to pre-hospital care through participation in professional activities, i.e. national, state legislative-elected or appointed
Instructs classes as directed
Float Flight Nurse Duties
Provides pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care documentation
Knowledgeable in use and routine care of all equipment and supplies used by all locations within AMI
Functions as a medical flight member
Attends pre-flight briefings and mission debriefing and completes necessary documentation
Assists in pre-flight liftoff checklist and Pilot assistance when needed, i.e. radio, navigational, and visual observation activities * Complies with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
Acts as a preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees
Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed
Responsible for filling open or vacant shifts as assigned at any Base location regardless of airframe or mission profile
Assists with new base start up
Required to deploy at notice for GMR's federal contract for disaster response

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Current, unencumbered RN licensed in the sates of assigned region (or Compact License where applicable) as well as a current, valid Passport with no restrictions to international travel.
Current in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TPATC and NRP - Prior to flight status
CFRN prior to hire
Ability to read, analyze, interpret health, and flight related journals, hospital reports, and job specific legal documents
Ability to discuss with management concerning inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to perform mathematical functions to include algebra and geometry
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Experience
Working Conditions:
* Must be able to sit in assigned aircraft seat in an upright position
* Frequently required to work near moving mechanical part
* Required to work in outside weather conditions
* Frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles
* Frequently exposed to vibrations/turbulence
* Exposed to loud noise levels requiring headphones while in-flight and at a moderate level when in a hospital environment
