AIR’s Workforce program area is seeking an Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology Research Associate to join our Human Capital Solutions team to work in the areas of skills-based practices, recruitment, selection, assessment, performance management, training, retention,and more-andprovide our public and private sector clients with unique insight and solutions. Our experts apply research-based principles in developing the knowledge, tools, systems, and programs required for maximizing human and organizational potential in the 21st century.

Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of ourU.S. office locations. (https://www.air.org/locations#headquarters) This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

+ Conducting job analyses

+ Developing competency models

+ Designing and conducting training courses or program evaluations

+ Developing and validating assessments

+ Planning and conducting quantitative analyses

+ Organizing and documenting analytical results and research procedures (e.g., data collection, instrument preparation, and statistical analyses)

+ Preparing technical reports

+ Designing and conducting research projects for federal and private sponsors

+ Contributing to competitive proposals

+ Periodic travel may be required

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

+ Master’s Degree in I/O Psychology

+ Experience conducting job analysis/practice analysis/competency modeling, developing assessments, or conducing other studies and analysis related to human capital.

+ Knowledge of advanced statistical methods, such as psychometrics and hierarchical linear modeling

+ Experience conducting quality assurance checks on data and analysis output

Skills:

+ Strong writing skills, specifically in describing qualitative and quantitative analyses and/or complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

+ Proficiency in data management and analysis procedures. Proficient in data analysis programs, such as SPSS, Excel, MPlus, and various IRT programs

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.

+ Ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team and balance multiple concurrent projects.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Disclosures:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

AIR’s Total Rewards Program , is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $55,000-75,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
