Job Description

Description We are in search of a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team in the service industry, based in Elmhurst, Illinois. The Sr. Accountant will be instrumental in managing the month-end close process and daily accounting activities, as well as contributing to quarterly forecasting and diverse ad-hoc requests. This role will cover a broad range of responsibilities including inventory accounting, parts costing/pricing, fleet accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for certain areas within the accounting function, such as inventory costing, fleet accounting, and part usage.

- Generate accurate accounting reports and present their results.

- Analyze financial data and summarize financial status.

- Identify errors and propose ways to improve process efficiency.

- Review and suggest modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

- Liaise with external auditors to facilitate an efficient annual audit.

- Support the month-end and year-end close process.

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

- Use business acumen to conduct forecasts for fleet, part usage, and balance sheet. Requirements – Must have a minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role

- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required

- Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is necessary

- Must possess strong skills in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting

- Knowledge of Month End Close processes is essential

- Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software is a plus

- Experience in Inventory Accounting is desirable

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- High attention to detail and accuracy in work

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
