Job Description

Description We are looking to bring on board an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team within the Non-Profit sector, based in MAYWOOD, Illinois. In this role, you will be pivotal in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records, providing insightful analysis, and contributing to the overall financial success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Take lead in the month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts and monitor budget performance.

- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and present meaningful insights to management.

- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

- Assist with tax planning and compliance, including preparation and submission of tax returns.

- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff and foster a positive work environment.

- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements – Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior accountant role or similar

- Proficiency in Month End Close procedures

- Experience in preparing Month-end Financial reports

- Ability to record and analyze Month-end Journal Entries

- Knowledge of Monthly Account Reconciliation processes

- Familiarity with Monthly Accruals management

- Proficiency in managing and maintaining the General Ledger

- Skilled in Account Reconciliation procedures

- Knowledge of Reconstructive Surgery accounting practices is a plus

- Experience in Ledger Account Reconciliation procedures

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks

- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Eligible to work in the United States
