Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Analyst – Forensic Analytics

As an Analytics Analyst, you will leverage your technology and data analytics skillsets to assist our clients as they tackle key business issues that relate to trust. You’ll be involved in developing data analysis plans, innovative analytics strategies, developing and assessing organizations’ analytics models, and designing and implementing a variety of solutions. By analyzing risk through data and technology, you’ll deliver true impact by building a more reliable world.

Work you’ll do

Our Forensic Analytics practice is a fast-growth practice within Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory that centers around three very specific focus teams including Digital Forensics, Anti-Money Laundering Analytics, and Forensic Analytics. Our Analytics team makes extensive use of data, statistical and quantitative analysis, rules-based methods, and explanatory and predictive modeling to bring insights to client issues in the forensic and transaction domains. We work with specialists in many areas, and we apply our solutions to a wide range of highly interesting and complex corporate challenges suing AI and Machine Learning to help our clients become cutting edge. Forensic investigations, fraud, deep analytics anti-corruption compliance, restructuring, safety and quality, enterprise fraud and misuse management to explain what has occurred in the past and to support informed decision making for the future. Our work increasingly employs specialized competencies, such as advanced analytics, visualization, and geospatial techniques.

As a member of our Forensic Analytics practice, you will work on projects that will allow you to collaborate with attorneys, forensic accountants, clients, and other investigators. As part of these projects, you’ll be provided the opportunity to demonstrate your technical, project management and leadership skills in an environment that provides for outstanding growth and advancement.

Specific areas of work could include:

+ Create, manage, analyze and utilize high performance relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, OLAP and other proprietary software)

+ Query and mine large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examine financial data and filter for targeted information

+ Design and develop models and solutions that use predictive analytics, text analytics and cognitive computing, and big data frameworks, in order to find anomalies and hidden patterns

+ Develop dashboards to visualize and integrate data from across the globe

+ Provide input with respect to practice technology initiatives and investments

+ Engage with a team of data analytics experts, software engineers, and business analysts to develop data-driven solutions using traditional and emerging technologies to solve complex regulatory risk and AML challenges

+ Use advanced Machine Learning deployment (XGBoost, Ensemble) and GenAI approaches

+ Use industry standard tools and techniques to extract and preserve the data from various capacities

+ Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with clients and teams

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

+ Problem solving and critical thinking skills in support of both innovative and operational enhancement opportunities

+ Ability to collaborate and communicate across Deloitte team members and client stakeholders

+ Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new concepts, frameworks and emerging technologies

+ Ability to manage own personal and professional development; seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experience

+ A strong understanding of Windows Based systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

+ Proficiency in scripting languages and data visualization platforms

+ Understanding of the data lifecycle and solutions development lifecycle in order help our clients understand their data and develop actionable solutions to manage it

+ Ability to work with and manage data sets, including extraction and merges from source systems, transformation, and provide preliminary descriptive analytics

+ Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new analytics concepts and data management frameworks

Qualifications

Required:

+ Bachelor or Master’s degree in one or more of the following majors with relevant analytics or data management focused coursework desired:

+ Technology: Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems

+ Business: Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Finance, Business Analytics

+ Math/Engineering: Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Mathematics

+ Strong academic track record with extracurricular activities (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above)

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

+ Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

+ Our current work environment is a hybrid approach, which means:

+ You should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required

+ You can expect to be co-located 30-50% with variations based on types of business/client needs

Preferred:

+ Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above

+ Relevant work experience or work experience in a professional environment (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)

+ Demonstrated recent leadership, such as in a campus club, society, sports teams or other activity

+ Demonstrated recent social impact or volunteer activity

+ Familiarity with a variety of analytics tools and programming languages such as, but not limited to:

+ Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle

+ Predictive Analytics/Data Mining: (e.g. Python)

+ Data Visualization Tools (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Power Bi)

+ Big Data Tools (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Impala, Mahout)

+ Reporting Tools (e.g. Business Objects, Reporting Services)

+ Machine Learning / GenAI

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current wage is $85,000.
