Description:
Rehab technician for inpatient support assisting therapists with patient interventions, maintaining clean and safe environment, and scheduling patients for weekend sessions.
Assists with a variety of patients care treatment and activities under the direct supervision of Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapists Assistance, and Speech Language Pathologists. Performs inventory, stocking and maintenance of department supplies and equipment. Performs all ordering for internal and external vendors on the Lawson computer system. Contributes to the growth of the Rehabilitation Services Department by supporting the development of new programs and protocols. Provides compliance guidance to other rehab technicians by serving as a mentor. Exemplifies the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation of the Loyola’s Mission and Philosophy.
Patient Care: Assists with direct technical patient care procedures throughout the entire span of life as directed by Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Pathology professional staff to ensure operations. Sets up, monitors, and removes patients on modalities and equipment. Performs therapeutic exercises, assists with ambulation, transfers activity, activities of daily living, positioning, and vital signs monitoring. Assists with hydrotherapy procedures to ensure patient safety, including setting up, monitoring and removing patient from hydrotherapy equipment. Adheres to infection control procedures by utilizing sterile technique, precautions, and maintenance procedures. Assists with fabrication of splints by drawing and cutting patterns, heating, bonding, and molding splint material, padding, and strapping. Maintains a safe and clean work environment for patients and coworkers by conducting maintenance checks, cleaning clinic areas, and informing appropriate departments about faulty equipment needing repair. Provides mentorship to new rehab technicians regarding proper procedures established by management team.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Minimum Experience:
Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications:

CPR – Basic Life Support
