Job Description

Kelly Science and Clinical has a new temp to hire opportunity for a Lab Analyst in North Chicago, IL!

Shift: M-F 8am-5pm

Pay: $25-$27/hour

Responsibilities:

+ Handling customer samples collected by proprietary air sampling devices: login customer samples received in laboratory, emailing customers, and processing samples for testing

+ Monitoring lab support email address and responding to customer inquiries

+ Purifying RNA from samples and running qPCR on RT-Thermal Cyclers

+ Purifying DNA from samples and running qPCR on Thermal Cyclers

+ Perform cDNA synthesis.

+ ELISA and ELISA- based testing and operating multiplex immunoassays in a Luminex-based system under direct supervision

+ Analyzing results and completing customer data reports using a laboratory information management system (LIMS) under direct supervision

+ Following standard operating procedures and reporting non compliances, errors and equipment downtime

+ Maintaining laboratory equipment and performance by upholding quality standards; certifying instrument performance; arranging equipment repair with approval by immediate supervisor

+ Maintaining laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; preparing orders for supplies for approval by supervisor

+ Maintaining proprietary air sampling devices, shipping, and receiving devices to and from customer locations, sending customer emails regarding delivery timeline, maintaining documentation as instructed by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelors degree in a biological science related field

+ Internship or industry experience in a biological laboratory, given preference

+ Experience with processing samples on Luminex immunoassay systems and RT thermal cyclers of equivalent lab equipment, given preference

+ Able to communicate with clients via email or other approved means of communications

+ Able to follow standard written protocols

+ Can work independently and prioritize efforts using standard procedures
