The Role

Strong technical skill level working on complex assignments within the network systems installation and/or maintenance activities. Works on relatively straightforward installation and/or maintenance assignments on network switching equipment. Technician for customer/company network systems installation and/or maintenance activities.

Work Schedule: 2nd 330pm to 12am and 3rd 9p to 730a (4×10)

The Main Responsibilities

+ Resolves complex network problems involving power, network hardware and software, lines, modems and terminals.

+ Uses software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose network status and problems; assists with network equipment installation and maintenance activities; resolves complex trouble tickets

+ Monitors network operations and resolves routine network monitoring problems.Provide routing, switching, and wireless support to Lumen contracted customer base. Includes break/fix support, infrastructure design, installation and life-cycle maintenance for new and current installations.

+ Evaluate new technical requirements for compatibility with deployed system designs and new products for compatibility and applicability to existing network support portfolio.

+ Maintains technical knowledge base regarding complex routing & Switching design and configuration of installed equipment.

+ Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

+ Provide high-level technical support for configurations, troubleshooting, and service restoration along with an understanding of routing, switching, and wireless technologies related to trouble shooting efforts.

+ Monitor and analyze performance across customer’s data network and underlying LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments.

+ Act as liaison between the customer and other network vendors (e.g. Cisco & Aruba) on high-level or escalated support issues.

+ Provide direct interface with other Lumen departments in support of the customer’s network issues and projects.

+ Isolation of network outage causes and service restorations including understanding characteristics.

+ Demonstrate direct customer interaction through exceptional communication skills, both written & orally.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum Qualifications:

+ 1 – 3 years wireless experience

+ 1 – 3 years routing and switching experience

+ Cisco CCNA Wireless Certification

+ CMNO Certification (Preferred)

+ Aruba ACMA Certification(Preferred)

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$60207 – $80275 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$63400 – $84500 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$66544 – $88725 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$69713 – $92950 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
