Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Performs financial calculations for the company in a variety of areas and with diverse responsibilities. Including assisting with the monthly closing process as well as the annual financial audit. Responsible for accuracy, timelines and the general integrity of the accounting function and related reports.

- Provides accounting assistance to project managers and operational staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.

- Performs and reviews accrual entries and reconciles GL accounts, monthly.

- Provides general ledger and reporting assistance to financial staff of subsidiary companies while developing relationships and open lines of communication with subsidiaries.

- Reviews monthly trial balances for accuracy.

- Ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommends accounting process improvements.

- Prepares weekly and monthly reports to management.

- Ensures revenue recognition is consistent with PPL practice and policies.

- Assists in month and quarter end closing processes.

- Provides support for project teams including project reporting/accounting, quarterly expense allocations and non-standard rate.

- Assists with oversight and coordination of non-financial audits.

- Research accounting standards or policies

Required Skills:

- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.

- Ability to work effectively with, and communicate with, all levels of management.

- Must have the ability to manage task load with frequent interruptions.

- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.

- Ability to document policies and procedures.

- Process improvement oriented.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required.

Experience: 8+ years accounting or related finance experience, experience with accounting software, prior GL accounting experience.
