Overview

The US Domestic Enterprise Marketing Leader (EML) is The Joint Commission’s Chief Marketing Officer who will serve as the single point of accountability within the Joint Commission Enterprise for all marketing activities conducted on behalf of The Joint Commission, Joint Commission Resources, National Quality Forum (NQF) domestically. In addition, the Domestic Enterprise Marketing Leader will help do market research to support product launch processes and voice of customer in the international markets. The Enterprise Marketing Leader will collaborate and partner closely with the EVP, Chief Brand and Communications Officer to deliver on the enterprise strategy. The EML will drive annual marketing planning and longer-range marketing functional planning for the Enterprise’s key product lines, delivering strategic and tactical marketing support. This position provides leadership for the strategy and execution of all marketing materials, programs, initiatives and promotions across all business lines, domestically in the US. The EML is responsible for building and protecting all Joint Commission Enterprise product line and corporate brands.

Responsibilities

1. Works with officers, product line and functional leadership to set annual and long-term strategic marketing objectives to achieve the financial and non-financial goals of the Enterprise, Domestically in the US.

2. Collaborates with product line and functional leadership in innovation, ACO, sales and business development, Corporate Communications, across the enterprise to establish customer acquisition, growth, retention and engagement goals and strategies.

3. Provides strategic leadership to teams responsible for all marketing planning and operations across the enterprise and ensures alignment with strategic goals.

4. Sponsors initiatives that improve the competitive positioning of The Joint Commission Enterprise brands in target markets.

5. Closely tracks demand generation program performance and communicates effectiveness via dashboards and scorecards

6. Ensures positive collaboration with IT, eCommerce Operations, Communications, and other key stakeholders.

7. Provides mentorship and coaching to the marketing organization that fosters an environment of talent development, continuous improvement, and attracts and retains superior talent

8. Works with product line leaders to identify opportunities for growth and competitive differentiation through new solutions and products; ensures selected opportunities have robust commercialization and launch strategies.

9. Seeks opportunities to improve capabilities, processes, and technology that strengthen the marketing infrastructure.

10. Responsible for planning and governing the Enterprise’s annual marketing resourcing, headcount, and capital budgets.

12. Leads and influences change at all levels of the organization.

+ Lead a team, who acts as the primary contact and serves as the voice of the new/existing A&COs within TJC, collaborating with and coordinating efforts across departments such as OQPS, ACO, & Innovations to deliver seamless delivery of solutions while also providing overview reports to Executive Leadership.

+ Lead the team to a balanced portfolio approach, ensuring mission development through healthcare organization investment strategies including: eProducts Tracers with AMP, Consulting, High Reliability, Digital Learning, etc

+ Establish annual business plan and drive growth within the Acute healthcare organization market, establishing net new locations engagement as well as closing the whitespace within the existing footprint of the Acute healthcare organization.

+ Develop a comprehensive strategy on how to build Acute healthcare organization engagement and loyalty, improving retention rates year over year.

+ Craft comprehensive strategic account plans that align with both the new and existing A&CO objectives and the mission driven solutions offered by TJC. Outline the strategies to drive growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and build long-term partnerships and execute on those plans.

+ Build and nurture strong relationships with each organization and engage regularly to understanding the organizations’ internal structure, key decision-makers, and area of opportunity to improve patient safety and quality of care.

+ Identify and respond to issues and concerns brought by organizations promptly. Craft and deploy swift and effective solutions that strengthen our partners confidence in TJCs commitment to their success and shared mission.

+ Leverage knowledge and insights to existing A&COs to identify opportunities for deploying new solutions. Propose relevant additions to the organizations current offerings that enhance the joint mission shared related to patient safety and quality of care while continuing to expand access to quality healthcare across the nation.

+ Leverage TJC’s data to gain insights, track progress, measure success, enable evidence-based decision making and identify areas for improvement in our offerings.

+ Provide customer feedback on products, services, or new opportunities to the Innovation team responsible for Standards revisions, additions, exclusions, clinical advances, and customer needs.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, MBA or equivalent desired.

1. 10+ years of progressive marketing, strategic planning and commercial experience. At least five years in a midsize to large health care related business. At least five years of managerial experience.

1. Broad marketing experience with an understanding of upstream product marketing development, downstream product marketing commercialization, demand creation, market research and specialized market segmentation.

2. Leverages Performance Marketing Metrics to drive marketing strategies, executing at speed, delivering expected outcomes.

1. Expert at helping develop Go To Market Strategies in Partnership with the VP of MDOE.

1. Up-to-date foundational knowledge of digital marketing including website technology, eCommerce, personalization, and paid/earned/owned media.

2. Solid working understanding of health care markets, players, economics, and trends.

1. Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability. Experience leading or participating in corporate strategy and planning activities.

1. Proven track record of building and motivating teams and managing managers in a complex organizational environment.

2. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to give persuasive presentations to C-level executives.

3. Experience sourcing, negotiating, and managing large contracts with marketing agencies and vendors.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Anticipated travel requirements up to 15%, including periodic international travel.
