We are searching for a Deputy Value Stream Leader (D-VSL) to join our Value Stream Leadership team located in Rockford, IL. The individual will be responsible for supporting the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) product team and Actuation Value Stream.

The D-VSL will assist the Value Stream Leader in leading and growing the Actuation Value Stream. The D-VSL will work closely with the value stream and functional teams to ensure achievement of the value stream’s strategic objectives and customer commitments.

What You Will Do

+ Responsible for tracking and reporting on Profit and Loss of program value stream

+ Leads risk and opportunity management for the program and drive mitigating strategies

+ Participates in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests

+ Develops, maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project/program to internal executive leadership and customers, including but not limited to Program Management Reviews

+ Implements continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality, specifically utilizing CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), lean, or six sigma methodology

+ Identifies and addresses program problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of programs Leads program work with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with the customer program objectives

+ Manages suppliers, when necessary, to support the program

+ Travel Requirements: 10-20%, includes domestic

Qualifications You Must Have

+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

+ Experience working with operations, quality, manufacturing, and engineering organizations

+ Continuous Improvement experience – CORE, ACE, Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
