The Role at a Glance

Provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for their assigned area(s) of application development responsibility. Develop innovative complex business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post-production support. They will deliver more complex business application software solutions following the system development life cycle process.

What you’ll be doing

+ Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate current trends and developments in current and future solutions.

+ Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Mentors and provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of their assigned area(s) of responsibility, adhering to project schedule, technical direction and application development standards.

+ Assesses and measures solution design impacts on IT infrastructure capacity, application architecture standards, future maintenance/support needs, and bottom-line cost-benefits in consultation with appropriate internal stakeholders.

+ Serves as a subject matter expert &/or provides direction on the design & development of applications systems while demonstrating an understanding of the broad implications & financial impacts of proposed solutions on operational & infrastructure support.

+ Serves as an escalation point for technical issue resolution.

+ Provides input on the development of project plans, test plans and implementation plans including determining estimates on timeline, needed resources and budgets.

+ Analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, integrates and tests complex software application solutions. Creates more complex technical specifications from business requirements/business specifications. Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business.

+ Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view.

+ Investigates and resolves complex problems including providing support for production systems in a timely manner.

+ Proactively identifies problems and presents/develops complex solutions.

+ Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.

+ Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.

+ Experience in Agile framework and development model.

What we’re looking for

Must Have:

+ 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience. (Minimum Required)

+ 5+ years’ experience in application development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)

+ 2+ years’ experience as a tech lead for an Agile development team

+ 5+ years’ experience and technical proficiency in Java, J2EE technologies, Micro services, Docker, MuleSoft, Restful APIs, InteliJ, Python and Gitlab CI/CD DevOps pipelines optimizing for performance and cost.

+ 5+ years’ experience with full AWS development lifecycle delivery, including Infra Provisioning, Automation and Security with emphasis on Storage Gateway, S3, Azure AD, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, Aurora Postgres, Dynamo DB, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, KMS, AWS CloudTrail, Step Functions, EC2, IAM, ECS, S3 Glacier, Database Migration Services, VPC, Route 53, AWS Autoscaling, Glue, Certificate Management, EventBridge.

+ Experience with working within a fully dedicated Agile team.

The pay range for this position is $90,300 – $164,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
