Position Summary: The Budget and Contract Accountant prepares programmatic budgets, invoices customers, prepares contract documentation and assists the Director of Finance and the Vice President & CFO with technical accounting, finance, and financial reporting requirements of the organization.

We are currently looking for full-time –Budget and Contract Accountant

Starting at $72K– contingent upon experience, education, etc.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bills, records, collect and apply payments to contracts and accounts receivable.
  • Assists with preparation of accounting of transactions including voucher allocation, deposits and cash receipts, one-time journal entries, and invoice preparation.
  • Assists or provides back up for other accounting and financial reporting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, closings.
  • Prepares specialized program cost reports.
  • Prepares program budgets.
  • Conducts accounting and financial analyses. Provides technical assistance on accounting, finance, and budgeting matters to management and program development staff.
  • Monitors and facilitates contracting process for select funding sources.
  • Assists with preparation for external audits that are required by contracts and regulatory bodies.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university
  • At least three years of related accounting experience and/or training
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
  • Good computers skills which include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Internet
  • Good communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population

The agency currently offers hybrid work schedules that combines in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week with the option to work up to two days remotely.
