Youth & Family Services (YFS) help parents and young people who are striving to become healthy and restore their relationships. YFS works in partnership with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community-based service providers so that together we can help individuals and families obtain the services and skills they need to live in positive, healthy ways.


We are offering a $500 sign-on bonus for a full-time Court Assessor

We are currently looking for full-time – Court Assessor

Starting at $45,000 – contingent upon experience, education, etc.


Summary: This position will conduct intake and screen clients for appropriate participation in assigned program for referrals to ancillary services and maintain all required documentation. This position is responsible for bringing services, agencies, resources and other people together to assist a client in achieving established goals. This includes providing transportation for youth pick-up, facilitating orientation, restorative justice, TPP and educational groups as required.,

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completes Substance Assessments daily
  • The Assessor assesses or ensures assessment by a licensed, qualified professional for patients who present for assessment.
  • Upon assessment of the client's strengths and needs provide referrals/linkages to identified services
  • In addition, the Intake Assessor ensures appropriate screening of medical and behavioral emergency conditions
  • Serves as a liaison between the agency and other providers of the program
  • Attend regular supervisory meetings.
  • Assist supervisor with new client orientation and intake
  • Follows agency's safety policies and procedures.
  • Completes and maintain all required documentation pertaining to clients
  • If detoxification services are required JCAP assessors coordinate admission between detox unit and treatment program.
  • May refer to methadone stabilization prior to referral to residential treatment
  • Referral of client to specific treatment which provides the recommended level of care
Requirements:

Our Ideal candidate:

  • B.A. degree, Masters preferred; one to three years of experience working with individuals with SUD.
  • CADC required within 2 years of hire date
  • Ability to obtain Certified Recovery Support Specialist certification (CRSS) through the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association within one year of hire.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria; substance use disorder (SUD), and dependence diagnosis.
