Senior Operations Specialist (Wealth Management)

Salary Range: $57,700 - 72,100 annually

At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Position Summary

The Senior Operations Specialist - WM is responsible for providing service and support to the bank's wealth management division. Responsibilities of the position include timely and accurate processing and accounting of client transactions related Wealth Management Operations Teams. The Senior Operations Specialist - WM will have strong working knowledge of multiple WM Operations core teams critical functions and act as a liaison between WM Operations and wealth management division. The Senior Ops Specialist will drive process improvement and automation for WM Operations team.

Primary Accountabilities


  • Recommends and implements process changes to improve services and systems, driver of system workflow and automation.
  • Leads team projects and initiatives; works with multiple areas of WM to identify process breakdowns and enhancement opportunities.
  • Has strong overall knowledge of Trust Accounting systems and data flow.
  • Review and interpret complex documents pertaining to client's information and general knowledge and understanding of various fiduciary account types currently under administration.
  • Strong, interworking knowledge and understanding of different security types as well as how they trade, settle and are treated for tax and performance reporting.
  • Performs complex account and security maintenance and transaction requests related to core/critical team functions.
  • In a senior role, act as a role model and expected to provide developmental and educational training to WM Operations team.
  • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
  • May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
