The Senior Risk Analyst-Aquatics is responsible for assisting aquatic supervisors in implementing and overseeing comprehensive and integrated safety and compliance strategies. As a member of the Legal/Risk team, this role will work with aquatic supervisors to identify and assess risks and create and execute training and performance management strategies for these risks. Along with the rest of the Legal/Risk team, this role would be responsible for developing and communicating strategic and operational goal setting and conducting employee evaluations for aquatic safety.

The Senior Risk Analyst-Aquatics will partner with aquatic supervisors and other staff throughout the association to ensure the safety and security of program participants, and that our staff are operating in accordance with the State of Illinois licensing regulations, certifying agency guidelines, Y-USA Aquatics Safety guidelines, the CDC Aquatics Model Health Code, OSHA regulations, and the YMCA philosophy and goals.'
**This position will have a home base at the Crown Family YMCA and travel to Chicagoland locations will be required.**
Salary range of $60,000- $65,000 annually with full time benefits

Scope of Responsibilities:
Support and empower aquatic supervisors to identify, develop and implement site-specific aquatic safety
strategies
Improve Association organizational strategies in consultation with Legal/Risk team to identify talent, structure, and
program changes, as needed
Audit and monitor compliance of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Aquatics Safety Check requirements:
Monthly in-service and certification audits
Provide tangible assistance to aquatic supervisors as needed
Assist aquatic supervisors in preparing for Safety Checks
Observe instructor teaching and conduct periodic review of training records
Daily scanning drills and quick-check spot checks
Provide Instructor Level training according to association staff and community needs
Develop and support association audit program, which includes site-run audits and association run audits.
Recommend remediation based on results
Work with aquatic supervisors to create and facilitate dynamic in-service trainings for lifeguards, swim instructors,
and additional aquatic staff with a focus on best practices as well as areas requiring improvement
Work with various internal departments to communicate perinate information across multiple communication
channels
Engage and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders including the American Red Cross, Y-USA, and
community partners
Advise and provide guidance to association leadership on all matters related to Aquatics Safety
Ensure appropriate training is in a clear vision for the mission and goals of the YMCA which inspires and engages
internal constituents and the external community
Promote water safety education and advocacy within our association and local communities
Perform other duties as assigned when necessary, or duties in the best interest of the Association
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or a related field or years of experience
A minimum of 5 years of substantial aquatics experience and supervisory experience
A minimum of 3 years of training and compliance experience
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor required
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer preferred
Current instructor certification in a nationally recognized swim lesson curriculum
Instructor Trainer or Faculty (train-the-trainer level) in a nationally recognized swim lesson curriculum preferred
Understanding of Certified Pool Operator/Aquatic Facility Operator certification requirements (CPO and/or AFO
certification required)
Extensive knowledge of lifeguarding best practices and effective training methods
