Salary/Grade: NEX/12

Target hiring range for this position will be between $43,539-$54,434 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The Department of Medical Social Sciences (MSS) aims to establish itself as a leader in advancing and applying outcomes/effectiveness research to improve patient care and influence policy. MSS
supports the National Institutes of Health's state-of-the-science patient-reported outcomes measurement systems under the HealthMeasures umbrella. We are seeking a program assistant to help with the administrative tasks that support the scientific operations of our multi-unit recharge center - the Northwestern University Center for Outcomes Research and Education (NUCORE). As a program assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives, making a meaningful impact on patient care and outcomes.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our dissemination efforts by managing our social media accounts, coordinating website content updates for HealthMeasures, and maintaining a comprehensive database that catalogs and characterizes the use of Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) measures, one of the measurement systems included in HealthMeasures. Your proactive approach will shine as you collaborate with your HealthMeasures colleagues to obtain the latest updates to share with HealthMeasures users. You'll also showcase your ability to distill complex information into engaging website and social media content. Additionally, you will contribute to periodic quality control checks in support of the greater HealthMeasures team. Your dedication to effective teamwork will be demonstrated through regular participation in check-in meetings with supervisors and group discussions, making you an integral part of our success.
Specific Responsibilities:
Documents & Databases
Based on analysis, research, &/or knowledge of subject matter, professional field &/or topic, prepares & compiles correspondence, reports, etc.
Creates &/or maintains complex spreadsheets &/or databases &/or reports, queries, charts, etc. based on supervisor's information objectives.
Website
Oversees creation, design & maintenance of website & social media content ensuring ease & practicality of use for targeted audience & objective.
Organizes information in ways that promotes & encourages use of site.
Gathers information regarding programs, events, etc.
Creates, writes, edits & posts articles, newsletters, program summaries, etc. to website and social media.
Coordination
Manages complex scheduling arrangements involving multiple parties & conferences, international travel, etc.
Sets-up & cancels meetings based on knowledge of subject & attendees.
Contacts
Represents the dept, program or project with various levels of personnel both internally & externally managing & facilitating confidential &/or critical information.
Responds to unanticipated & complex issues.
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
1 year program/project administration or other relevant experience.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, social media, and database software programs is required.
Detail oriented, proactive, resourceful, ability to break large efforts into smaller tasks for prioritization and completion.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Strong analytic thinking skills to quickly identify and solve problems pragmatically that requires input and collaboration between multiple people.
Excellent organization, time management, prioritization, and planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of full 4-year course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree
Experience interacting with scientists and other assessment developers.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Knowledge of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) and experience with their implementation in research projects.
