Position Highlights:
Position: Diabetes Educator, Diabetes Center
Location: Naperville
Part Time - 20 Hours Per Pay Period
Hours: Monday-Friday8-430 Plus teaching an evening class 1 time a monthWhat you will need:
Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition
OR BSN if a Registered Nurse
Minimum of one year of previous hospital experience as aRegistered Dietitian or RN
A minimum of two years of previous diabetes education and Masters' degree preferred
Current State of Illinois Registered Dietitian
OR Current State of Illinois RN License
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) Preferred but requiredwithin 2 years of start General Summary: The Diabetes Educator assesses patient learning needs and provides education and motivation for patients who have or are at risk of developing diabetes. Educates patients with diabetes about the disease and disease management, including medications, diet, exercise, screening, and strategies for avoiding complications. Facilitates skill development and behavior modification so that the patient is able to successfully manage his or her disease. Benefits:
