Job Objective:

The Territorial Christian Education Director is responsible for the development, promotion, and administration of youth Christian Education programs focusing on specifically Sunday School, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, and Cradle Roll. Leadership will be given in ministries and events initiated and conducted on a territorial level, while support is provided for divisional and corps programs. Areas of leadership can be divided into three main components: 1.) Coordinating Christian Education Ministries, 2.) Christian Education resource review and development, and 3.) Direct ministry to children.

Essential Functions:
Coordinating Christian Education Ministries
Provide specific oversight through the various divisional headquarters to all youth Christian Education programs throughout the Central Territory, giving specific attention to Sunday School, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, and Cradle Roll ministries.
Plan, implement, and coordinate all territorial campaigns, efforts, contests or emphases relating to the development and growth of Sunday School, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, and Cradle Roll ministries.
Assist divisions to improve Sunday School, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, and Cradle Roll programs through:
Qualitative and quantitative evaluations
Goal setting and measure of program effectiveness
Achievement of program balance within the ministry and vision of corps
Oversee all components of the Orange Youth Sunday School curriculum throughout the territory including the Orange website and regular communication with reThink Group and their Orange Specialists. Regularly monitor all membership and attendance statistical trends, compile divisional reports, and all other related details.
Oversee all components of the Junior Soldiers curriculum throughout the territory including the Junior Soldiers website and regular communication with Kelly Pope of Eskoa Group. Regularly monitor all membership and attendance statistical trends, compile divisional reports, and prepare higher awards and special recognitions.
Oversee all components of the Bold/Corps Cadets curriculum throughout the territory including curriculum and supply orders, Corps Cadet revisions, preparing Honor Roll and graduate lists, regular monitoring of all memberships and attendance statistical trends, compilation of Divisional reports, preparing higher awards and special recognition, approval of Post High School Corps Cadet Scholarships, and all other related details.
Coordinate and supervise character building troop/program registrations and process higher level awards. Monitor membership and attendance statistical trends, compile territorial reports, prepare higher awards, special recognitions and all other related details; Assist divisions to develop, promote, and implement training courses and programs for leaders of character-building programs in cooperation with appropriate divisional personnel.
Provide leadership training for Divisional Youth Leaders, Divisional Christian Education Directors, and local corps leaders of Christian Education ministries.
Distribute official Salvation Army Christian Education resources.
Participate in territorial, divisional and regional training sessions and direct consultation as needed or requested.
