We are seeking a Construction Technician to join our Customer Engineering team. This position is a residence based role that requires 50-75% travel throughout the midwestern region of the United States. The ideal candidate would be located in areas such as Chicago, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Detroit, and western Ohio.

The Construction Technician position requires technical competency, including the ability to startup, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cryogenic and gases product storage systems. The position requires a strong technical background, an ability to read technical drawings and a true focus on safety. The Construction Technician is responsible for installing product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites.

The candidate needs to be familiar with gaseous and cryogenic piping systems, valves, tanks, and equipment primarily in liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide service. Excellent project skills in scope development, customer interface, and overall project management are required. Equipment selection, crane coordination including performing the role of lift supervisor, transportation scheduling, installation, startup support, contractor/maintenance tech supervision and customer training are keys to success in this position.

An independent work environment, coupled with extensive driving associated with installations, imposes a unique and challenging safety environment. Incumbent will be required to demonstrate extremely high standards of safety performance, both while performing activities at system or customer sites, and while driving their vehicle.

The candidate needs to be able to work independently and have good communication skills as they will be dealing directly with our customers. A professional appearance and positive attitude are a must.

Construction technicians are among those employees with the highest exposure to our customers. All Construction Technicians will present a professional appearance, confidence, and calm demeanor always.Qualifications/Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalency is required.

Must be proficient with all hand tools.

Ability to repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.

Will need to pass a service/pickup truck road test and have a clean driving record. Technician will use a Company-issued vehicle.

Candidates must have solid communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to read technical drawings

Computer skills are needed to perform projects and other day to day dutiesAdditional Requirements:

Responsible for installing product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping in liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide service.

Demonstrate extremely high standards of safety performance both while performing activities at customer sites and while driving their company-provided vehicle.

Demonstrate and practice working knowledge of safe rigging and lifting procedures.

Experience with supervising crane contractors and serving as Lift Supervisor for equipment lifts/sets via cranes with load capacities up to 250 Tons.

Demonstrate quality brazing techniques and experience with installing and pressure testing piping

Demonstrate and practice safe handling of hand tools and hand power tools typically and commonly used in installation and maintenance tasks.

Demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping drawings, and electrical controls schematics.

Accurate cost reporting for both materials and labor expenditures.

Understanding the properties, behavior, and hazards of the products they are likely to encounter.
