Job Description

BGIS is currently seeking an Associate Vice President- Data Center Engineering Services to join the team Remote, US.

The Associate Vice President creates strategic long-term objectives for a specified business line and assigned clients. The position drives operational excellence, growth and system efficiencies with a focus on sustainability. The role is a member of the US executive leadership team. The Associate Vice President leads others positively exemplifying BGIS values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Team & People Leadership
  • Communicate vision of the organization at all levels, strategic objectives, and goal setting.
  • Lead key group of Directors and Managers.
  • Establish and communicate performance standards.
  • Identify required talent to successfully execute excellent client service and partner with talent team to source, select, on-board, and train team members.
  • Review and document individual performance and track team accomplishments.
  • Deliver updates on key business initiatives, ensure leaders are aligned and focused, and provide regular individual performance feedback.
  • Plan for talent succession within the organization of responsibility and support individual professional and career development.
  • Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
Foster Client Relationships & Business Development
  • Maintain and expand client relationships including specific senior level leaders with each client organization.
  • Connect relevancy of BGIS services to address client needs and understand client expectations.
  • Communicate current account/project conditions to BGIS Senior Leadership.
  • Provide oversight to vendor relationships and quality of work performed.
  • Deliver strategic oversight and direction for functional work teams.
  • Direct managers to drive operational excellence and process efficiency.
  • Develop and manage high level budget processes, monthly financial cycle activities, and track performance of operations within established financial plan.
  • Preserve client and facility assets along with company assets and intellectual property.
  • Work closely with business development and support the sales process and pursuits
Business Operations Accountability
  • Resolve and contribute to problem solving approaches addressing contractual issues or technical delivery of service on a timely basis.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on contractual terms and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure appropriate operating standards and processes are defined, communicated, and followed.
  • Validate compliance with client standards and external regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Promote consistent conformance with BGIS safety philosophy, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor operations, special projects, and other key initiatives driving execution of business objectives.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other BGIS departments/teams.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset for better efficiencies and long-term sustainable approaches.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Facilities Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Ten years of experience providing business leadership in a similar role.
  • Accomplished people leader with ability to build, motivate, and retain key talent.
  • Knowledge and expertise relevant to specific business area of focus including advanced training and certifications.
  • Expert relationship building to initiate, maintain, and extend partnership opportunities with current and future clients.
  • Professional networking skills within the organization and externally in the industry to stay informed of trends and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of how to drive financial success leveraging competitive advantages in the market and proactively anticipating future client needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at an executive level with the ability to create and deliver messaging throughout the organization relevant to the audience.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach empowering others to implement resolutions.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.

  • Current valid driver's license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
