Mercantile Bank, a United Community Bank, is in search of a Marketing Specialist. Candidates will be responsible for performing timely research and will play a vital role in the development and maintenance of marketing communications. Will also assist the Marketing Director with the planning, directing, and coordination of marketing the Bank's products and services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Research, analyze, monitor, and report on financial industry news and trends. This includes but is not limited to competitive market, product/service, customer, technology, and demographic research
Develop relevant and relatable promotional and informational content for our products and services, performs necessary research to effectively communicate and/or translate materials, and assist graphic designers and compliance personnel to produce and track approved materials
Actively participates in the development of and updates to all company websites; develops proficiency with website content management system (CMS) and trains Marketing team as needed
Coordinates marketing materials, promotional item inventories, and event supplies; provides input and follow up for purchasing and procurement decisions
Maintains and provides cost allocation for departmental marketing budgets and marketing general ledger accounts and processes marketing accounts payable
Builds and sustains relationships and proactively communicates with branch managers and third-party product and service vendors
Assists the marketing team in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and community activities; participation is expected at most events and some travel may be required
Performs daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department's activities
Perform other duties as assigned

Computer Requirements:
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point) preferred
Experience with social media platforms
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite programs
Familiarity with Concrete5
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
At least one year of relatable experience preferred
Additional Requirements:
Previous customer service skills preferred
Strong attention to detail
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to practice discretion and handle confidential information in a professional manner
Ability to perform duties independently with limited direct supervision
Problem Solving/Analysis skills
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
Written and verbal (face-to-face and phone) communication skills including professional grammar and demeanor
Ability to multitask
Professional integrity in compliance with company policy, and ethical and legal standards
Attendance Requirements:
Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start work. Employees are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours should be avoided.

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical requirements:
Requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary
Requires the ability to hear, speak and/or signal people
Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and in English
Requires manual dexterity, typing, and the ability to lift objects and operate equipment
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Travel to remote branch and other bank locations may be required.
