M-F 7am – 4 pm

Overview

Primary Function:

Provide leadership and overall management of Commercial Engine Aftermarket Product Support and Sales team to ensure efficient and productive operations, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Help develop long range plans for growing the service business. Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to express ideas and influence others in a positive manner to accomplish work goals. Daily job duties require strong leadership, administrative and organization skills, as well as technical ability. Must be able to work in fast paced environment, with multiple priorities and willing to work extra hours, when needed.

The following positions report directly to this position: Product Support Sales Representatives, Inside Sales Representatives, Project Engineer, and Digital Sales Representative.

Basic Duties

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Administer sales/service strategies for promotions and products

+ Develop and communicate a sales coverage plan

+ Develop and sell business case/business plan

+ Develop and provide input on annual budget and forecast

+ Manage areas of responsibility within approved budget

+ Interview, select, and hire employees

+ Determine actions required to manage assets and ensure customer accuracy

+ Manage daily workflow of Inside Sales Team and Project Engineer

+ Manage day-to-day performance of employees

+ Manage pricing processes

+ Ensure participation in New Product Introduction (NPI)

+ Provide needed coaching, skills, and resources to employees to ensure development and accountability

+ Ability to execute decisions based on best interests of the Company and Team

+ Resolve escalated customer issues

+ Sell value of products and services

+ Demonstrate required proficiency level in specified foundational competencies and skills

+ Collaborate with service, data center, and parts teams to improve process efficiencies and manage contracts and resource availability

+ Manage promotion and event scheduling

+ Manage large and complex customer accounts

+ Calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree:

+ A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is typically required.

Work Experience Requirements:

+ Sales Experience:

+ A minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

+ Experience in the power systems industry, heavy equipment, or a related technical field is highly desirable. Caterpillar experience preferred.

+ Management Experience:

+ At least 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.

+ Experience managing a sales team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

+ Technical Knowledge:

+ Understanding of power systems, diesel/gas engines, generator sets, and related equipment is preferred.

+ Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical clients.

+ Industry Knowledge:

+ Familiarity with the market dynamics, customer base, and competition within the power systems or heavy equipment industry.

+ Skills and Competencies:

+ Strong leadership and team-building skills.

+ Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.

+ Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

+ Proficiency in sales software and CRM systems.

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and effective correspondence.

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerBi, Sharepoint, and Access, etc. Experience with order processing systems and contract management preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position works in an office environment. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 25 lbs. May on occasion need to go into the shop or warehouse and will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields, hearing protection, etc.) for a given situation. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional travel may be required.
