Clinical Therapist – Matteson, IL

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Clinical Therapist will provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services. These intensive supportive services are time-limited, designed to prevent additional behavioral health crises and mitigate adverse health outcomes. The Clinical Therapist will collaborate with local law enforcement, social service agencies, and various NYAP departments to offer solutions that utilize the Whole Person Approach to wellness. Responsibilities The Clinical Therapist will perform duties including, but not limited to:

+ Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

+ Completes all follow-up care and home visits within the required time limits

+ Reassess safety and provide referrals for behavioral health and other needed services.

+ Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities to improve outcomes

+ Prepare and maintain written reports that contain clinical material secure, confidential, and in compliance with state and federal privacy.

+ Provide short-term, culturally humble, client-centered, solution-focused clinical intervention.

+ Develop or participate in the development of safety and crisis management plans to assist individuals in maintaining personal safety and those around them when under increased stress.

+ Actively engage the individual and their natural supports and treatment providers in this process and plan development.

+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field from a CSWE accredited college or university- plus two (2) years of supervised post-graduate experience in mental health or human services.

+ Knowledge of theories and frameworks related to Structural Violence; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Institutional Racism; or Mental Health

+ Previous experience in crisis response, substance abuse, juvenile justice, or equivalent

+ Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

+ An awareness or acceptance of the NASW Code of Ethics

+ Is committed to serving the underserved with dignity, compassion, and respect

+ Is an effective and efficient communicator.

Other Skills

+ Administrative and supervisory experience

+ Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations of social services, mental health, and children and families, crisis response, and substance abuse preferred

+ Leadership experience in community engagement, activism, or organizing

+ Experience designing and implementing programs, initiatives, or research projects

Driving and Vehicle Requirements

+ Valid driver’s license

+ Reliable personal transportation

+ Good driving record

+ Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
