Position Summary Under the general oversight of the Program Director, the Assistant Program Director provides support to the Program Director and serves as secondary liaison with ORR. RESPONSIBILITIES The Assistant Program Director will perform administrative duties including, but not limited to:

+ Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies

+ Advocate on behalf of youth and youth service systems via participation in individual and systems advocacy.

+ Promote, encourage, and assist Lead Clinicians in developing innovative programs and implementing special projects to better serve youth and their families.

+ Supervise Lead Clinicians and provide direction on cases.

+ Serve as a liaison between Program Director, Lead Clinicians and ORR staff.

+ Conduct program evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness of agency services to youth and their families.

+ Prepare reports on agency licensure, regulatory, and compliance reviews.

+ Responsible for planning and coordinating statewide functions, including trainings and conferences.

+ Assist in program development activities including referral agency contacts throughout the state in order to further develop services and referrals to NYAP.

+ Present at least one workshop at a national or statewide conference on Transitional Foster Care and advocacy.

+ A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours with a possibility of being on call on nights/weekends, in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science field.

+ 5 years of experience social services or childcare agency or organization.

+ 2 years of experience in an administrative and/or supervisory role in youth services.

+ Bilingual English/Spanish fluency

+ Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

+ Openness to traveling as required by the position
