About this role:

Wells Fargo Commercial Auto’s National Accounts team is seeking a Senior Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager.

Wells Fargo Commercial Auto provides a comprehensive suite of products and services to serve the diverse financial needs of local and national auto dealers. Wells Fargo Commercial Auto provides a wide range of Commercial Banking products and services, including deposit and Treasury Management products and services. Financing solutions provided by Wells Fargo Commercial Auto include floor plan financing and financing for acquisitions, commercial real estate, and working capital.

The National Accounts division of Wells Fargo Commercial Auto supports the largest private and public dealer groups with complex financing needs including capital markets participants, those with institutional debt, equity or Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) investors, or syndicated credit facilities.

In this role, you will:

+ Partner with relationship managers and other deal team members as a key client-facing member of the relationship team.

+ Review, research, and recommend solutions for highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.

+ Deliver solutions which require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, coordination of highly complex activities, and guidance to others.

+ Engage with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management professionals and managers across the company and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.

+ Make decisions and recommendations in complex and multifaceted situations requiring exceptional understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and deliver client solutions.

+ Collaborate and consult with Commercial Auto and Commercial Banking peers, colleagues, and mid- to high-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

+ Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.

+ Manage the credit needs of a portfolio of most complex clients and prospects, primarily focused on clients with credit commitments >$100,000,000.

+ Monitor assigned portfolio of credit commitments to ensure on-going compliance with loan agreements, covenants and payoff requirements and resolve problem accounts in partnership with deal teams.

+ Determine the credit worthiness of prospective clients by analyzing financial statements, projections, appraisals, meeting and interviewing the prospective client’s management team, analyzing and obtaining a detailed understanding of the prospective client’s cash flows and balance sheet, leverage and key risks.

+ Prepare, review and edit credit memos and present recommendations to senior approvers.

+ Negotiate appropriate terms and conditions for the largest and most complex transactions, and work with deal teams to ensure appropriate documentation is in place.

+ Identify critical transactional and structural risks and propose appropriate structuring alternatives to mitigate those risks.

+ Ensure compliance with all policy and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

+ 7+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

+ 4+ years of experience underwriting upper middle market and corporate clients.

+ Strong cash flow and asset-based lending credit analysis skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Experience with bank syndications, multi-bank participations and clients with varying and complex capital structures including collateral and cash flow waterfalls; subordinated debt layers; and complex ownership structures.

+ Experience with commercial, owner-occupied real estate lending including documentation, due diligence and regulatory compliance processes.

+ Experience negotiating, managing and amending complex credit facility legal documentation.

+ Familiarity with automotive retail sector including floor plan lending and servicing.

+ Strong risk management and compliance skills.

+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

+ MBA degree preferred.

Salary range is determined by location of the job. May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights, or other long-term incentive awards.

$144,400.00 – $300,000.00
