The Role at a Glance

Our Retail IQ (Life and Annuity) organization is growing looking for an experienced Sr. PM/Scrum Master in a remote capacity to support our fast-paced Data IT organization at Lincoln Financial Group. This position is a ‘possible’ contract-to-hire for right individual.

This position will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure solid project management and agile practices are understood and enacted. As the Sr. PM/Scrum Master, you will support two to three scrum teams within a fast-paced application development environment while adhering our hybrid-scrum delivery model, leveraging LFGs Adaptive delivery method as well as leveraging Agile/Scrum practices as we evolve in our Agile journey.

What you’ll be doing

+ Manage and lead one to two application development team(s) to consistently deliver high-quality software products and apply professional project management processes as defined by PMBOK’s best practices (given the combination of Agile and Adaptive frameworks) to effectively manage, execute and deliver defined scope within the agreed-upon timeframes and budget to a good outcome

+ Apply solid execution and control practices to proactively monitor and measure progress leveraging evidenced based metrics to measure progress (e.g. actual effort to date and estimated effort to complete) and proactively identify any need for corrective actions

+ Identifying and directing the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit.

+ Providing subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.

+ Providing direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of assigned area(s) of responsibility.

+ Leading IT development delivery teams facilitating progress toward delivery goals using LFGs Adaptive and Agile practices and coordinating with other non-scrum teams involved in the effort.

+ Managing budged, team demand/capacity and schedules for assigned projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery to meet goals and objectives.

+ Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies and responsible for managing impediments to an outcome.

+ Facilitating day-to-day project management/Agile ceremonies (Project Planning, Daily Stand-up, Retrospective and Backlog refinement).

+ Managing internal and external communication, improving transparency, and communicating information throughout the organization.

+ Facilitating collaborative sessions with internal clients and/or external vendors on projects to formulate creative and practical solutions to software challenges.

+ Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.

+ Identifying and recommending process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

+ 5+ Years of experience as a project manager/scrum master leading multiple software development project teams to deliver high-quality software solutions using Agile techniques.

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) in IT or related business field

+ Thorough understanding of multiple SDLC methodologies with an emphasis on Waterfall/Agile hybrid methods.

+ Experience managing multiple teams simultaneously environment, including onsite and remote team members.

+ Experience managing team capacity, demand, product and requirement backlogs, and executing effectively and efficiently using a combination of traditional project management and Agile techniques such as Scrum or Kanban.

+ Demonstrated experience in project management practices and principals.

+ Strong experience in managing multiple custom software development efforts.

+ Knowledge of enterprise Agile management tools.

+ Proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.

+ Financial Services and/or Insurance Industry experience.

The pay range for this position is $90,300 – $164,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
