This role is responsible for managing the analytics function for the US Foods Direct business, leading a team of analysts who conduct advanced analytical activities across areas including margin management, sales reporting, 3rd party shipping analysis, product cost management, and competitive pricing. The manager is a business partner to the US Foods Direct staff, utilizing their analytical team to identify and improve the performance of each of the different business channels within Direct.

New Ways of Work : This position has been segmented as hybrid meaning the work is a combination of 3 days onsite In Rosemont, IL (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and 2 days remotely (Monday, and Friday) as defined by the role segmentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Drive improvement and performance through analytical methods and tactical reporting, identifying process improvement (CI) opportunities.

+ Provide innovative and impactful insights and recommendations to stakeholders and upper management.

+ Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, and dashboards that support key business decisions.

+ Manage a team of analysts, responsible for maintaining item and system setups, as well as reporting and analysis, driving insights

+ Develop a data reporting structure and analytics strategy for US Foods Direct, building a single source of truth data set for entire US Foods Direct team to leverage, including accurate pricing, costing, and margins

+ Define and own the audit process, including auditing of all item setups, looking for gaps and opportunities for additional sales. Additionally, own the financial auditing of 3rd party shipping costs to ensure optimal shipping price accuracy.

+ Supports business partners in evaluating and communicating financial performance, including monthly results and identifying risks / opportunities

+ Facilitate knowledge sharing across analysts within their team, as well as with analytical grounds across the company

+ As needed, lead projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities

SUPERVISION :

+ A team of up to 6 analysts

RELATIONSHIPS

+ Internal: Work closely with stakeholders across the enterprise including Category Mgmt, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales etc

+ External: Works closely with vendors, suppliers, third party consultants and contractors

WORK ENVIRONMENT

+ Hybrid : This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

+ Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in business, analytics or other relevant area.

+ Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word – understanding of Access preferred

+ Must be able to proficiently compile, manipulate and manage large streams of complex data – have the ability to garner meaningful conclusions and trends from said analysis and make impactful recommendations to further drive improvements and the business performance

+ Prior experience with applications such as Power BI strongly desired

EDUCATION

+ BA degree in business, analytics or similar, or equivalent work experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Microsoft Access

+ Standard required physical activities including length of time performing each activity.
