Maintenance Project Specialist

Job Description

Seeking a dedicated Maintenance Project Specialist to oversee comprehensive maintenance tasks including installation, repair, and diagnosis of old and new machinery across multiple facilities. This role involves working with industrial machines such as punch presses, rewinders, thermoforming machines, and cartoning machines. Responsibilities include moving machines between locations, using mills, lathes, and drill presses, and performing mechanical and electrical maintenance. The candidate will spend 85% of their day on preventative maintenance and repairing machinery, with 15% allocated to other facilities handling various maintenance tasks.

Hard Skills

+ Mechanical Maintenance

+ Experience with mills, lathes, and drill presses

+ Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s

+ Ability to work with voltages up to 480V

+ Experience with lockout/tagout procedures

+ Comfortable moving between multiple facilities

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Wheeling, Illinois.

Work Environment

This role operates on a 1st shift basis from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM during weekdays, with additional hours as needed depending on production demands. Saturdays involve 5 1/2 hours of work, typically involving overtime. The environment is a loud manufacturing setting, requiring comfort with high noise levels. The maintenance team is skilled and collaborates across approximately 900 employees in total, focusing on both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
