The Government Bid Specialist will take ownership of the entire government bid process to include researching all government bids, all awarded contracts, tracking all government bid data and ultimately, automating the reporting to summarize the data. They will also work closely with the Ford Pro Team & Ford Customer Service Division Team to secure these contracts. Strong growth potential within the Ford Pro Organization. Prefer candidates in the Eastern Time Zone or Central Time Zone.

+ Assume ownership for all bid contract proposals to ensure all bid specifications, deliverables and milestones are met weekly

+ Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands for resources under tight deadlines

+ Ability to take ownership of undefined projects and innovate quickly with minimal supervision

+ Ability to review contracts and find gaps in compliance quickly

+ Excellent research skills to stay up-to-date with local, state and federal automotive RFPs

+ Available to travel and attend market area meetings with Government agency personnel, Ford Motor Company personnel, Ford Dealer personnel and FAD personnel

What you’ll do…

+ Identify, summarize and format bid/RFP documents for the Field Team to use and distribute

+ Compile all data and automate weekly bid reports for the Field Team or Management Team in all sales channels

+ Analyze and validate data for National Incentive payouts

+ Manage and reconcile finance budget reports

+ Work on multiple proposals or projects simultaneously and communicate the progress to management

+ Manage inputs from a variety of stakeholders in Ford Pro and Ford Customer Service Division

+ Meet with state and local government procurement officials to build relationships

+ Attend seminars focused on how to do business with the government agencies

+ Attend mandatory Pre-Bid meetings

+ Submit questions on behalf of the team to government agencies

+ Organize meetings with market area teams and dealers to review larger bid opportunities

+ Assist and Train Dealerships or Ford Authorized Distributors with their proposed bid responses and provide input

+ Research all awarded contracts and track all data (Ford Dealers or competitors)

+ Conduct post bid reviews with the Ford Pro Teams & FCSD Teams

+ Attend local trade shows and conferences

+ Promote Ford Pro Fleet Service Operations programs, Ford Pro Commercial Vehicle Center Programs, FCSD Programs

You’ll have…

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

+ 2+ years of experience of advanced Excel and data analytics

+ 2+ years of experience with all Microsoft Office products required (Excel, Word, Office, PowerPoint, Access)

+ 2+ years of experience with CRM software (Salesforce) to manage customer relationships, track sales, and analyze customer data

Even better, you may have…

+ Parts & Service Fleet experience preferred

+ Excel programming experience preferred

+ Experience with GovWin/Onvia, Bid Prime, Bid Net and other RFP/bid platforms preferred

+ Commercial vehicle business experience, P&L and risk management preferred

+ Proven experience as a Contract Compliance Specialist or similar role preferred

+ Experience writing and submitting bid proposals and grant proposals a plus

+ Experience with cooperative purchasing a plus

+ Must be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal

+ Must have strong proofreading skills and attention to detail

+ Must be comfortable working with procurement officials

+ Must be comfortable working with CEO or Director Level personnel (internal or external)

+ Excellent collaboration, organizational and interpersonal skills with a “team first mindset”
