An Electrical Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use.

location: Mossville, Illinois

job type: Contract

salary: $34.41 – 48.18 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

+ Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.

+ Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.

+ Estimate time and cost to complete projects.

+ Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.

+ Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.

Skills:

+ Experience with lab equipment – Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Operational Amplifiers.

+ Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) tool/process.

+ Experience with Failure Mode Effect & Root Cause Analysis (FMEA) process.

+ Good documentation and presentation skills using MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. (Desired).

+ Knowledge and experience with connectivity/telematics technologies.

+ Experience with Operating Systems: MS Windows 7,8,10, UNIX, Ubuntu.

Education and Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preference would be in computer or electronics engineering.

+ Related Associate’s Degree will be considered with an additional two years’ experience (seven years minimum).

+ 5-7 years’ experience required.
