Job Description

Universal Robots, WE WANT TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE THROUGH ROBOTICS

Our international team of hardware, software, and business professionals comes from all walks of life and is united by a common goal: sharing the world-changing benefits that robots can provide. We offer a highly stimulating, dynamic environment with unlimited career potential – where you set your own level of success. You will be an essential part of a team that is focused on success, growth, development, and innovation. You’ll be part of Universal Robots (https://www.universal-robots.com/) . Universal Robots is revolutionizing the way humans work with robots. We have carved a whole new market in the world of robotics, the Collaborative Robots – aka Cobots – market and we need amazing people to help us nurture it. In a world in which many believe humans are destined to be replaced by robots, we beg to differ: humans and robots can and should work together, for only then will they be able to reach peaks that neither a human nor a robot alone can aspire to. Universal Robots was born to bring that vision to life and today we are creators, leaders and drivers of a market destined to change the world of industrial automation. Do you want to write the next chapters of this world-changing story with us? Then read on… We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to bring AI-based tools, products and features to our cobot platform. Our cobots are already the best platform for AI innovation and we’re ready to take it to the next level with hardware, software and user experience tools that make our cobots the no brainer, go to choice for both partners developing cobot-based solutions and for end customers. Our cobots are used by novices and advanced developers alike, and in a wide variety of applications, environments and at varying levels of integration. As the cobot market leader, we invest heavily in product development and now is the perfect time to join as we kick off the next phase of innovation. You, as the Senior Product Manager – AI, will turn the unique challenges our customers face into product requirements and deliver a clear product vision for our hardware and software products. You will define the highest-value differentiated features, set market pricing, understand UR’s competitive positioning and more. Along this journey your amazing leadership, market experience, product management and customer skills will help you scope out and collaborate to develop and execute the plan. You are a strategist who enjoys understanding and leveraging how organizations run, you understand how to get things done and collaborate with peers and stake holders, you love spending time with customers, sales and engineering. And you think out of the box, dig deeper to understand the root of problem statements and translate the company’s high-level vision into actions, taking us where no one has ever dared. We can’t wait to meet you. Key Responsibilities

+ Develop and drive the product strategy for releasing AI-based hardware and software products that deliver on the promise of UR cobots providing the best cobot user experience in the world

+ Work cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Product Marketing and Research to develop new market-driven products and features and to launch and promote products that grow our cobot sales

+ Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into customer problem statements and smart requirements for our products, applications, and solutions

+ Conduct market assessments and voice of the customer interviews, as well as prepare sales, marketing, and training materials

+ Continuously understand competitive offerings, maintain knowledge of competitive features and use this information to influence our product plan and future vision

+ Develop and maintain a forward-looking, multi-year roadmap

+ Work closely with engineering throughout the product development process; be a constant advocate for the customer, provide continuous guidance for product teams, and lead tradeoff negotiation and prioritization discussions

Who are we looking for? You will have 8-10 years of product management experience, ideally in robotics or other technical, preferably industrial, products. Robotic experience is not required, but an understanding of the industrial automation market and industrial automation products is strongly preferred. It’s key that you are tech savvy and passionate about building platform products that enable customer satisfaction, and that you have excellent people and management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and external partners. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who can meet the following requirements:

+ You have 8-10 years’ experience in product management

+ Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders; must be comfortable being a public speaker in front of large, senior groups

+ You are comfortable facilitating planning and decision-making across several teams, including partners, and know how to encourage and empower teams to get things done.

+ Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle and driving successful business outcomes

+ Metrics-driven: track record of leveraging strong analytical and quantitative skills and data to make assumptions and drive decisions

+ You care deeply about the user experience and have extensive knowledge in design principals, UX, quantitative and qualitative research
