Zurich Insurance is currently looking for a Sr TPA Specialist in Complex Claims. The position carries a AVP title. This position will oversee complex Liability claims handled by external TPAs on behalf of Zurich insureds and captives nationwide. This supervisory oversight position works with minimal direction at high authority levels on assignments reflecting a high degree of technical complexity. The position requires superior technical skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, extensive litigation management experience, coverage, as well as product and industry knowledge.

The candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report into the following North American Claims Remotely in any state within the United States.

The Sr TPA Specialist regularly communicates with TPAs, TPA Ops, Corporate Law, Claims Legal, customers, brokers, Business Unit representatives, and Senior Management to facilitate and ensure the resolution of a variety of liability claims including Commercial Auto and CGL claims. These include premises liability, product liability, auto, trucking, Workers Comp Employers Liability, Liquor Liability, UM/UIM, and on occasion XS claims. The individual will be dedicated to specific accounts.

In this role you will be responsible for:

+ Providing direction and authority to the TPA claims professional.

+ Analyzing coverage, drafting coverage position letters for some accounts and approving TPA drafted coverage position letters for others.

+ Trial management and post-verdict handling.

+ Evaluating exposure

+ Seeking and granting authority including explaining reserves when consultation is requested.

+ Assists/directs TPAs to resolve according to the TPA Best Practices and the Zurich Claim Handling Agreements, within authority limits.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Juris Doctor and 7 or more years of National GL claims experience including at least 6 years of experience with Large Loss claimsOR

+ Bachelor’s Degree and 9 or more years of National GL claims experience including at least 7 years of experience with Large Loss claimsOR

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of National GL claims experience including at least 7 years of experience with Large Loss claimsOR

+ Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 9 or more years of National GL claims experience including at least 6 years of experience with Large Loss claimsAND

+ Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)

+ Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment

+ Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Knowledge and Prior TPA Claims Handling and/or Oversight is valuable

+ Negotiation experience.

+ Customer service experience

+ Be able to travel up to 10%.
