JOB SUMMARY

This role serves as a strategic leader and “player-coach” of a team focused on payment transformation, inclusive of Value-Based Payment and traditional Fee-For-Service. The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of department strategy, while also managing a team of subject-matter experts. Key responsibilities include providing analytical and strategic leadership to support the organization’s goals, developing and implementing strategies to maximize value-based reimbursement opportunities, supporting the execution and operations of overall payment strategy including Fee-For-Service, supporting the evolution of provider contracting, payment structures, and other advanced reimbursement models. The role also involves managing and mentoring a team of projects resources, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and development. This individual will work collaboratively with teams across actuary, operations, legal, Markets, Segments, and business development to achieve strategic objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the organization while leading and developing a team of talented professionals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

+ Strategic Planning/Transformation/Consulting – Lead strategy execution and/or transformational initiatives for the department. There is a need for assistance in the strategy and development in team build out, budgeting, forecasting, hiring, interviewing, and training new hires, and implementing projects and initiatives. There is also a need for strategic leadership and guidance for all strategic initiatives.

+ Build relationships with our strategic partners, key stakeholders, and executive leaders to ensure successful engagement in initiatives and programs. There is a need for interaction, communication, and partnership with executive leaderships across the footprint to achieve the objectives and execute the business unit’s strategy. A liaison is needed to bridge gaps, build relationships, escalate issues, develop synergies, etc.

+ Assist and advise Executive Leadership with department budgeting, staff meetings, individual development plans, resource hiring and management, employee engagement, initiative forecasting & portfolio development. This role will also partner with the Chief of Staff on any and all strategic items as assigned.

+ Other duties as assigned or requested.

Pay Range Minimum:

$92,300.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$170,800.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
