Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Position Summary: The Aesthetician evaluates and coordinates skin care needs of clients. Performs skin care services of the Medical Skin Care Program in collaboration with Dermatologists/Plastic Surgeons. Promotes departmental/facility product line. This position will also be performing Medical Assistant duties. Maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Certificate in Related Field CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Cosmetologist License Illinois upon hire or Esthetician License Illinois upon hire and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS One (1) year Aesthetics or. One (1) year Cosmetology preferred. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

+ Successful completion of Medical Terminology course

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team. Must be able to plan, prioritize and complete tasks as scheduled. Must be able to function independently and deliver a high level of quality patient care. Must remain up-to-date on new products and services within the cosmetic practice. Essential Functions:

+ Provide Medical Assistant support to multiple provider practices.

+ Consistently provides a higher level of direct care. Ex: photography, suture/staple removal, drain removal, dressing changes, and wound packing.

+ Coordinates, develops and maintains the Medical Skin Care Program.

+ Performs skin care or cosmetic procedures.

+ Educates patients, staff and potential customers on skin care services.

+ Collaborates with business office to maintain appropriate product inventory.
