Overview

An experienced professional of emergency medical services as well as routine patient care with Supervisory responsibility. Monitors the performance of the system utilization of all resources required for daily operations. Ensures that all personnel maintain the highest level of professionalism promotes a positive working environment by acting as a mentor to all station personnel providing them with consistent communications and support. Functions as a leader by providing ongoing direction and or facilitation of activities and projects in the assigned area of responsibility. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of Superior Air Ground Ambulance Service Michigan Region. The Operations Supervisor too must provide overall direction of employees and resources with the assistance of the appropriate Personnel. The Operations Supervisor must be available to be contacted should the need arise after normal business hours in cases of urgent situations. Job Requirements: To perform the job successfully, strong attention to detail, critical thinking and decision making skills is a requisite as this position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. This position also requires strong management skills. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities

Maintain daily operations of the station. Provide station Leadership:

+ Schedule (Assist in filling vacant shifts at your stations with coordination with the Scheduling Coordinator).

+ Attendance (Address all attendance issues timely following the progressive discipline policy).

+ Maintain communication boards with updates and changes at your stations.

+ Take full responsibility for the condition of your station building and associated resources. This includes communicating all maintenance needs, building repairs, vehicles maintenance repairs and appearance in cooperation with the appropriate personnel.

+ Exercises direct responsibility and authority for supervision of assigned personnel.

+ Monitors and documents the performance of assigned personnel while on duty.

+ Promote a harmonious working team environment and build employee enthusiasm through special projects and outings.

+ Fulfills the duties of the Manager on Duty when needed or requested.

+ Employee advocate (Hands on approach with employees).

+ Agree and uphold our core values and ensure that timely and appropriate progressive discipline is followed, all direct parties involved in the incident is interviewed and IR’s received from all parties, attain dispatch information pertaining to the investigation, pictures, staff notes are included within the investigations and finally if discipline is warranted that we act swiftly and address on or before the next shift, or no later than 72 hours.

+ Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with peers, supervisory, and subordinates.

+ Actively participates in the promotion and marketing of Superior Ambulance.

+ Plan and implement company in-service and update sessions as required with the Education Department.

+ Interface and participate within the new employee orientation program to meet and greet the new team members.

+ Provide remedial training of existing staff as needed.

+ Assist in the presentation of OSHA mandated training and attend all mandatory safety classes.

+ Conduct regular audits of ambulance run reports with the CQI Coordinator.

+ Actively participates in the promotion of Superior Ambulance with local hospitals, nursing homes, healthcare facilities and communities.

+ Attends meetings, seminars, and conferences as requested by Superior Ambulance Management.

+ Control inventory of supplies required for everyday operations of the company including but not limited to medical, ambulance and station.

+ Train personnel in all aspects of routine company operations including but not limited to safety, company policy, equipment, and vehicles.

+ Communicate with proper personnel to compile data to analyze and optimize station operation (including but not limited to call statistics, scheduling, payroll, and employee attendance).

+ Responsible for reviewing truck check-outs and manage related problems immediately.

+ Maintain clear and effective communication with all personnel.

+ Receive, investigate and address complaints as needed.

+ All “essential duties and responsibilities” of the Station Manager Job description as needed or assigned.

+ Special projects and all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

+ Excellent verbal communications skills.

+ Ability to “Multi-task” and handle fair amount of stress when busy.

+ Experience, education and/or equivalent training.

+ Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.

+ Computer literate.

+ Typing of at least 25 WPM.

+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific knowledge.

+ Ability to respond to common inquiries, complaints from employees, customers, agencies, facilities and hospitals.

+ Ability to effectively present information to peers subordinates and top Management.

+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission’s proportions, percentages, area, circumferences and volume.

+ Ability to apply basic concepts.

+ Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

+ Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

+ Maintains failsafe-driving level.

+ Current state enhanced driver’s license applicable to work location.
