Duties and Responsibilities
This is a part time position responsible for the coordination, supervision, evaluation, performance and day-to-day operations of the Dance Team.
Organize and supervise all practices, games and campus events.
- Oversee the recruitment, tryouts and clearance for all participants.
-Develop appropriate relationships with members on spirit teams; help guide their academic, athletic, professional and personal development. Understand and utilize 'best practices' for safe and effective coaching.
-Improve synchronization across Spirit Teams at games- build on current traditions while developing new ideas to enhance the fan experience.
-Assist with administrative tasks as it relates to the dance team, coordinate with student leadership, and serve as a liaison between the team and athletic administration.
-Provide direct supervision and training of dance team members during athletic sporting events
-Create and teach choreography for various routines and game day material
-Work with sport administrator to follow compliance, budget etc. with Loyola University Chicago's protocols and policies.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelors degree in related field and one to three years previous coaching experience. Must have working knowledge of Conference rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Collegiate level spirit program coaching experience with thorough knowledge of applicable safety standards.
- Training experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of collegiate dance organizations
- Knowledge of basic NCAA rules and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills with supervisor as well as program participants.
- Experience with : stunting, spotting, tumbling, cheerleading, dance, choreography and mascot training.
