Job Description:

Microchip Technology in Colorado Springs is looking for a skilled Technician to perform preventive maintenance, calibration and repair of various toolsets within the Microchip's Colorado Springs (MCSO) Test Operations and development areas of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to wafer probers, package handlers, ATE testers, ovens, and all associated equipment. This technician will support production and engineering personnel on 2nd shift. This is a small group setting where interpersonal relations skills are important.
Job grade is dependent on experience.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication with maintenance technicians, production, engineering and suppliers.

Self-motivated, with the integrity to work with limited supervision.

Support improvement activities/teams with active participation.

Follow MCSO Test Operations manufacturing and safety protocol.

Apply appropriate diagnostic techniques to identify and correct common failures on equipment sets and work with other technicians or engineers to collect and analyze process data.

Utilize available training materials and certification requirements to assist in meeting assigned personal improvement goals.

Interface with OEM suppliers and contractors on completion of repairs.

Provide input to assist with development and optimization of equipment preventive maintenance schedules.

Participate in work area team meetings.

Attend training schools and sessions both on site and at supplier's facilities to obtain knowledge and experience with assigned equipment sets.Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing.
The equipment maintained is highly complex and contains subsystems such as:

Power distribution and control systems

Pneumatic and control systems

Motor (stepper) and control systems

Robotic and control systems

Vacuum and control systems

Temperature and control systems

Electro-mechanical drive/control systems

AC and DC conversion and control systems

Signal monitoring and control systems

Gas delivery and control systems

RF delivery, RF matching and control systems

Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include:

Ability to perform PM and general maintenance on electro-mechanical production equipment.

Ability to work from schematics, mechanical drawings, or written instructions.

Experience in the use of multimeters, soldering irons and mechanical tools.

Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Ability to use MS Office.

Work 2nd Shift: 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm
Desired Qualifications:

Experience repairing semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.

Electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Ability to interface with parts or service vendors.
Physical Requirements:
