Position Overview
As a data-driven marketing leader, the Demand Generation Director develops strategies to drive awareness and sales engagement using a variety of tactics, including, but not limited to conferences and networking events, webinars, paid media advertising, SEO/SEM, partner marketing and email marketing. Under this position, all campaigns produced must be aligned to VMS's account-based marketing (ABM) strategy which centers around a top account list across select verticals that are strategically chosen to maximize value to our customers. This person is responsible for refining and scaling our marketing technology stack and acting as the business lead for identifying all use cases, integrations needed, and documentation of processes. Success in this role hinges on effectively scoping and reporting on account attribution, as well as monitoring the marketing-influenced pipeline. These measures serve as critical indicators of the impact and effectiveness of our efforts. In addition, this role will strategize and execute marketing initiatives through direct contributions, team efforts, and in-house digital agency support. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer at Verisk Marketing Solutions.
About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role
* Oversees and directs the work of key resources and their teams, including both the Marketo Agency, Experiential Marketing & Media Sponsorship Manager and other agents / resources under management by Demand Generation
* Delivering against key metrics, including financial, pipeline, and attribution goals outlined by the Chief Commercial Officer
* Leading demand generation functions to drive predictable, scalable, and repeatable pipeline and revenue (i.e., leads, MQLs, SQLs/opportunities, closed won deals), including ownership of data analysis for all marketing initiatives to measure impact and ROI
* Developing an account-based marketing strategy to understand, influence and quantify the customer journey across all stages of the lifecycle from acquisition, nurture/conversion, retention, and advocacy
* Ensure the quality and completeness in the marketing data across all marketing technologies * Collaborating with sales, revenue operations, product and marketing leadership to develop growth strategies for pioneering new markets and competitive opportunities
* Tracking budget for marketing plans and delivering against business goals/objectives
* Developing campaign plans which include financial, operational, and quality metrics for marketing campaigns as well as reviewing and approving campaign plans proposed by direct reports
* Collaborating with direct reports and peers in management/customers/vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs, adding or expanding key internal and external resources as needed
* Drive multi-touch marketing attribution model by building connectivity in marketing technologies and our CRM data across multiple touchpoints in the customer lifecycle
* Identify areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing automation systems, CRM systems, and data integration
* Train sales and marketing on the technology stack and continually educate the teams on new features and best practicesQualifications
