Job Summary 
 Under the supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of the University's accounts.
Salary Grade 
 O08
Essential Functions 
 Reconciliation of bank accounts and various general ledger accounts.
Prepares journal entries for non-recorded bank transactions.
Provides a daily summary of available cash to upper management.
Works with others to ensure timely application of funds. 
Maintains all aspects of fixed asset inventory.
Produces ad hoc system reporting as needed.
Provides backup for check preparation and postings.
Other Duties and Responsibilities 
 Perform other duties as needed and assigned. Responsibilities, activities, and duties are subject to change at any time, with or without notice.
Minimum Qualifications 
 General working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting.
Prior bank account reconciliation experience.
Solid organizational ability with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong commitment to continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications 
 Proficiency with Ellucian Colleague or Banner a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements 
 Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
