PURPOSE

To provide Central Office support and coordination in the Housing Development Department at National Church Residences.Specifically Project Leaders conducting affordable housing development activities including sustainability initiatives.The Development Intern will assist Project Leaders in all areas of their positions, from completing applications, project underwriting, secure financing, and managing project timelines.The Development Intern must have initiative, be an effective communicator and have excellent organizational skills.

The Development Intern will be a part of the Development Department at National Church Residences. National Church Residences is the nation's largest not-for-profit developer and manager of affordable senior housing with 300+ properties in 23 states. The Development Department applies its 40 plus years of property development credentials to initiate, construct, acquire and expand the nation's senior affordable housing supply.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

The typical responsibilities for this position are to assist immediate supervisor, other origination team members and/or the department with the following:

Review tax credit and bond application submittals, pre-pay requests, and lender applications to develop affordable housing communities.

Assist with financial models for the development team including, without limitation, 4% and 9% tax credit models.

Review and prepare funding applications to develop affordable housing communities.

Assist with research and analysis of resources and requirements related to Inflation Reduction Act and other green and sustainability funding and initatives.

Promote and participate as an active and supportive member of the acquisition and development team.

Attends and participates in regularly scheduled team meetings

Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, promotes a team approach, participates in appropriate problem-solving methods.

Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences Employee Information Guide (EIG) as well as any facility handbook including but not limited to corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET-Intern

Education: Seeking Graduate Degree or in Last Years of Undergraduate Degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, City Planning, Public Policy, or Related Field.Interest in Affordable Housing RealEstate Development.

Experience: Entry level - no experience required

Mental: Must have good communication, comprehension, computer and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English

Skills:

Excellent communication and written skills.

The ability to communicate with and persuade key project stakeholders.

Must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
