We are seeking a Senior Research Associateto join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

Position Highlights:

The Senior Research Associate conducts scientifically rigorous research in a specialized area under the direction of the program leader. Performs systematic reviews of scientific literature on specific topics. Designs and conducts applied experimental, quasi-experimental, and other quantitative and qualitative research. Gathers, analyzes, and interprets study data. May work individually or as part of a project team. Drafts research study reports or summaries of findings, submits research to peer-reviewed publications and other research outlets, and presents at conferences or related events.What You'll Do:
Research Initiatives Support (75%)
Participate in reviews of scientific literature on various safety topics
Use various presentation formats to share information about published research with internal and external audiences, including NSC staff, partners, volunteers, members and other stakeholders
Develop various data collection tools such as survey questionnaires, interview guides, or focus group moderator guides
Apply research techniques to validate and pilot data collection tools
Perform data collection, transfer, storage, cleanup, coding, validation, and other data management functions
Under supervision, apply statistical techniques to conduct analysis of quantitative data
Perform analysis of qualitative data
Assist in identifying opportunities for future research and research funding
Support the preparation and submission of proposals for funding
Impact Measurement Support (25%)
Collaborate with internal program owners to implement and execute impact measurement methodologies
Maintain and identify improvement opportunities for NSC's internal impact measurement tracking system
Analyze program quantitative and qualitative data
Assist in the development of evaluation reports
Prepare presentations and reports to inform various audiences on all aspects of program process and results
Other duties as assigned (5%)We're Looking for Someone with:
Master's degree in research, Public Health, Sociology, I/O Psychology, Environmental Health & Safety, or a similar field and at least 6 years of relevant experience conducting searches and analysis of published scientific literature, using online tools and in-print materials to identify sources of scientific information. OR Bachelor's degree in research, Public Health, Sociology, I/O Psychology, Environmental Health & Safety, or similar field and at least 8 years of relevant experience conducting searches and analysis of published scientific literature, using online tools and in-print materials to identify sources of scientific information.
Master's degree preferred
Professional experience in applied research, program evaluation, policy evaluation, public health and safety, not-for-profit organizations
Familiarity with program evaluation methodology
Excellent organizational skills with process management and project management experience
Self-motivated and ability to develop ideas
Comfortable in leading and knowing how to collaborate with others
Flexibility in a fast-paced and changing environment
Comfortable presenting in front of groups both internal and external
Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SPSS or comparable statistical software, qualitative analysis software a plus
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Technical writing and analytical ability
Ability to present research results to technical and non-technical audiences
This is a remote position
Salary for this role is $72,000
